Task
The Medis medical laboratory approached us with a clear request: to increase high-quality organic traffic and bring the website to the top of Google search results. The priority was to strengthen the position in Lviv and the region, and then scale up to other cities. We were also tasked with increasing the number of appointments with doctors and boosting the number of visitors searching for the clinic’s brand name and the names of the doctors who work there.
It was important not just to increase the number of visits, but to attract potential customers who were genuinely interested in medical services — from tests to consultations and treatment.
This niche requires a special approach to SEO: within the framework of YMYL, it is necessary to demonstrate expertise, working to build authority in the eyes of potential clients of the clinic, as well as the search engine.
What did we do?
We started by developing a clear SEO strategy that took into account regional characteristics, the competitive environment in the medical niche, and restrictions for YMYL topics. In the first few months, we focused on the technical and content base to make the site convenient, fast, and understandable for users and search engines.
As part of our content work, we created dozens of SEO-optimized pages focused on the most frequent and searched topics in the medical field. These included both descriptive service pages and informative articles about symptoms, test preparation, prevention, and more.
At the same time, we worked on the structure of the site: we made it more flexible for scaling to other cities, added new landing pages, and improved the UX. We coordinated each update with the client and tested it through analytics.

Special attention was paid to the external authority of the site. We systematically increased the number of high-quality backlinks from medical platforms and news resources. This allowed us to improve the site’s trust in the eyes of Google without sudden jumps and sanctions.
Throughout the project, the team also conducted a technical audit and made changes that affected speed, indexing, and mobile adaptation. We paid special attention to the convenience of making an appointment — after all, for SEO in medicine, it is important not just to bring in visitors, but to turn them into patients.
Results after 1.5 years of SEO cooperation
The first stage of work lasted from September 2020 to February 2022, and in August 2023, we resumed cooperation with new goals and scope. During the first 1.5 years of active SEO optimization, we achieved tangible results.
Traffic to the site grew to 111,700 visitors per month. Overall organic growth — +628% traffic from Google compared to the beginning (screenshot 1).

The visibility of the site in the search engine increased from 34% (Screenshot 2) to 46% (Screenshot 3).


535 keywords made it into the Google TOP 10, and 85 into the TOP 1.


The site has firmly established itself in the regional search results for Lviv and has entered new markets — Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil.
